The MS6 is a late '80s, 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer module from British company Cheetah. MS6
Analog multi timbral synthesizer module
The MS6 is a late '80s, 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer module from British company Cheetah. Similar to the Oberheim Matrix-1000, like its American counterpart the MS6 offers a huge amount of preset and user voices. Sounds are broken down in five Preset and two User banks, and are grouped in categories such as Strings, Brass, Bass, Effects and so on. This is a great-sounding, classic DCO analog synth; you won't find multi-sampled pianos in it, but plenty of warm strings/pads, acid basses, excellent synth brass, and all kinds of special effects. Moreover, the MS6 is multi-timbral, and features a splendid aftertouch, very responsive - that makes it a very expressive instrument for leads. |

- Feb 27, 2014 I was a user of Cheetah MS-6. It's based on a Matrix-1000/6/6R, but with 6x layering and multitimbrality to create awsome huge basses and leads. Be carefull - there is no longer a technical support for this piece. My cheetah died in the late 90s and it was not able to service it:(I had a lot of fun in the past with it.
The Curtis filter gives this synth a characteristic 'hybrid' digital/analog flavor. There are many parameters that can be changed from the front panel, but given the limited display, it's better to use an external computer editor. Coming out on top mac download software.
I played the MS6 through a t.c. electronic M300 processor for a touch of reverb/delay.
She does provide examples though so you know what she means by the various categories.Hi AndalayBay,Thank you very much for your help.Been using Tomlong's Site from the beginning of this new install. She has organized everything into tabs to make things easy to follow. I like the way she uses categories rather than specific mods. The tab about organizing packages talks about installation order. How to use boss oblivion.
